Ingredients
  • Rice 2 cups
  • Water 6 cups
  • Cinnamon Essential Oil 3-4 drops
  • Sugar 1/3 cup
  • Brown Sugar 1/3 cup
  • Vanilla1 teaspoon
Instructions
  1. Put uncooked rice and water in blender. Soak the rice overnight. Add 3 drops cinnamon oil to the blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Strain into a pitcher through several layers of cheesecloth to remove any grit or large particles from the liquid.
  3. Stir in the sugar and vanilla.
  4. Adjust sugar and cinnamon oil to taste. If you want it to taste richer, add more brown sugar.
  5. Serve chilled.
Notes

You can add more cinnamon oil to make it stronger, if you like, but try to make sure to add only 1 drop at a time since every drop is very concentrated.

Citrus Flavored Iced Tea

There’s nothing as refreshing as a tall glass of sweet tea in the summertime.  But sometimes, I want to have different flavors.  Here is a simple recipe for a healthier sweet tea than the traditional.

4      Tea Bags,  Black or Green

1      Quart        Water

2      Drops        Citrus Fresh Essential Oil Blend

3      TBSP         Agave

Ice

Boil 1-2 cups of the water and pour over tea bags.

Let the tea steep.  Add the agave in to make it as sweet as you like.  After a few minutes, remove the tea bags.  I usually walk away from the kitchen at this point to do something else and return when I remember that I was making something.

Prepare the container you will store the tea in and fill up partially with water.   By adding the water in now,  you can add the hot water without worrying about breaking glass or melting plastic.

Add 2 drops of Citrus Fresh Essential Oil blend.  This particular blend is nice and refreshing.  You want to be careful to only put a few drops in or the flavor will be very strong.  2 drops in a quart gives a nice hint of flavor without being too overwhelming.

Now pour the concentrated tea into the pitcher and fill up to the top with the remaining water.

Pour into a tall glass with ice and enjoy!

This recipe is perfect for hot summer days.  The riper the peaches, the better this tastes. You can substitute sugar or blue agave instead of the honey.  If you use agave, you will likely use a tad less than if you use sugar or honey.

1       Cup      Plain Yogurt
2       Tbsp     Honey
1 – 2  Drops    Mandarin or Tangerine Essential Oil

Ice

Mix in blender and Enjoy!

Peppermint Spritzer

Why I make this:

I have slow and weak digestion and often have a bloated, upset stomach. My favorite way to quickly ease this is to make a peppermint spritzer.  I simply put a drop or two of peppermint oil in a glass, add ice, and then pour in carbonated water or club soda. The bubbles seem to help with the bloating and the peppermint helps with the digestion.  Plus, it tastes very clean and refreshing that I enjoy it just as a pick-me-up.

Recipe:

1-2     Drops     Peppermint Essential Oil

Ice

Carbonated water or Club Soda

Drop the peppermint oil in the bottom of the glass. Fill with ice (if desired) and bubbly water.

Make sure to put the essential oil in first so that it will blend with the water nicely.  If you put it in last, it will pool on top of the water.
