1/2 oz Jojoba Oil
1/2 oz Avocado Oil
1/2 oz Shea butter OR mango butter
1 oz Beeswax
1/4 Essential oil
Makes approx 30 lip balms…..
Melt Beeswax. Melt mango and Shea butters on medium low heat, in a small sauce pan on the stove. Add the sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil. When beeswax is melted (extremely hot) add to the oil mixture (it may solidify when added, just stir until it is all melted). Lower heat, wait a few minutes and add your essential oil. If you want to see how firm your balm is before filling the tubes, place a small amount on a spoon and put in the freezer. Wait 5 minutes, check it. That is how firm or soft your lip balm will be.
Now your ready to fill the lip balm tubes. Use a syringe to fill the tubes. Place lip balm tubes on parchment paper and begin to fill. (You can also use a lip balm holder). If the oils in the pan begin to solidify just reheat gently. We just keep ours on low while filling the tubes. When finished filling the tubes, top them off and cap them. To clean any overfills
use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe them down. Your labels will stick better if cleaned.
Makes approx 30.
It may take a bit of practice to master filling the tubes with a syringe. Don’t give up just smile and try again!!!
When using pure essential oils or herbs be sure to research them! Be sure to clean out your tubes before using them. Don’t be afraid to experiment!!! Be creative!! Enjoy!!!
